Designed by Dr. John Gobble, Ashley Boudet, ND, and Chef Mark Reinfeld, 'Change Your Plate, Change Your Fate - Eating Your Way To Diabetes Remission' is a 12-part virtual series that aims to help individuals with diabetes or pre-diabetes improve their quality of life. Supported by research, as many as 50% of insulin-dependent type 2 patients have successfully gotten off insulin or reduced their insulin requirements by half using Dr. Gobble's approach. The program offers a comprehensive understanding of glucose mechanisms in the body and provides simple yet effective changes in lifestyle medicine, plant-based nutrition, and beginner culinary skills.

The course also covers the importance of regular physical activity, stress management, and time-restricted eating. By completing the program, in addition to experiencing greater confidence and creativity in the plant-based kitchen, learners will be able to understand the physiology of diabetes, the impact of macronutrients on insulin sensitivity, and meal planning for optimal insulin sensitivity and well-being. Price: $299/family including recipes, course materials, a copy of Plant Based Recipes and Meal Options by Lynn Gobble, and Ask the RD - where all of your nutrition questions are answered during the program. Cost may be covered by your insurance provider. Dr. Gobble earned a Master of Public Health in Nutrition, Doctor of Public Health in preventive care and provides Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDN). This course will be provided as MNT. Most health plans provide the MNT benefit to members with diabetes. If you have diabetes, confirm your eligibility for the MNT benefit. In many cases there are no co-pays or deductibles. But if Dr. Gobble is not in network with your health plan, then you will need to ask for prior approval from your health plan.   • Part 1: Let's Get Started! Understanding diabetes, cooking made easy- setting up your kitchen for success, how plants are medicine and how nature provides, success stories.

  • Part 2: Diabetes Remission. Building the culinary foundation- template recipes and the monk bowl, macronutrient- carbohydrates.

  • Part 3: Fat & Insulin Sensitivity. Easy recipes and meal planning, batch cooking, shopping tips and tricks, macronutrients- fats.

  • Part 4: Your Friend Fiber. Good carb recipes, healthy digestion, fermented foods, food intolerances. 

  • Part 5: All About Protein. Protein from plants, legumes, protein rich recipes, macronutrient- protein. 

  • Part 6: Activity, Metabolism, and Longevity. Cooking without fat, importance of daily movement, mind body connection, intro to micronutrients, nutrient-density.

  • Part 7: Microbiota, Immunity, & Hunger. Bountiful breakfasts, micronutrients part 2, focus on food not single nutrients, superfoods, reading labels. 

  • Part 8: Restricted Eating & Restoration. Quick and easy lunches, managing meds, healthy aging. 

  • Part 9: Stress, Sleep, and Rest. Optimizing dinner, relaxation, introduction to the power of conscious breathing. 

  • Part 10: Free Radicals and Eating Out. Eating out choices, history of diet trends, flavors, aromas, colors, and kitchen remedies.

  • Part 11: To Eat or Not to Eat. Making snacks healthy, teas and other beverages.

Presenter Bios

John Gobble, DrPH, RDN, MCHES, FACLM, DipACLM 

John is founder of “Lifestyle Medicine Group,” a team of advanced Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDN) providers of medical nutrition therapy and therapeutic lifestyle change services in the Pacific Northwest. Their goals aim to make Lifestyle Medicine an integral part of 21st century healthcare. They work with healthcare practices across the nation to identify sustainable processes to support lifestyle change.

His passion has been to foster the translation of the science for health behavior change into practical applications for public health and lifestyle medicine. He was one of the early pioneers in the development and use of Health Risk Appraisals in the broader context of public health promotion. John has authored a number of technical and educational solutions for health behavior change including the MNT Assistant – data management and behavior change tools for Medical Nutrition Therapy. Through several scientific publications, John demonstrated the effectiveness of community-based lifestyle change programs to reduce biometric risk factors of chronic disease among thousands of participants across North America.

John earned a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) in Preventive Care and a Master of Public Health (MPH) in both Public Health Nutrition and Health Education from Loma Linda University School of Public Health. He is an RDN, an Oregon Licensed Dietitian (LD), and a Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES). He is also a Fellow and Diplomat of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.

Ashley Boudet, ND  

Ashley is a Naturopathic Doctor trained in Primary Care Medicine at The National College of Natural Medicine. She is the coauthor of The Ultimate Age Defying Plan, is board certified by the Oregon Board of Naturopathic Medicine and is an executive board member of the International Congress of Naturopathic Medicine. As a Naturopathic Doctor, she is committed to promoting a connection to nature as a pathway to healing. 

During her many years of studying, observing, practicing, and living this medicine from a place of deep curiosity, she began to understand that the true meaning of wellness lies within the individual, and continually evolves. From this understanding she accepts a call to support others on their own personal quests for healing. She is currently offering nutrition and lifestyle educational programs on a variety of nourishing topics that harness the power of connection by creating a space for growth and learning within a shared community,

Chef Mark Reinfeld

An award-winning chef, educator and authority on plant-based cuisine, Chef Mark Reinfeld has over 25 years experience preparing innovative vegan and raw food cuisine. He has written eight acclaimed books and conducts virtual and in-person culinary trainings around the world. 

In 2017, Chef Mark was inducted into the Vegetarian Hall of Fame. He was the founding chef of The Blossoming Lotus Restaurant, voted "Best Restaurant on Kaua’i". Mark is a recipient of a Platinum Carrot Award from the Aspen Center of Integral Health. His first cookbook, Vegan Fusion World Cuisine, was named “Best Vegetarian Cookbook in the USA" and has a foreword written by Dr. Jane Goodall. 

Since then, Mark has authored seven more books including the bestselling 30-Minute Vegan series, as well as his latest books detailing the links between health and plant-based diets.

He serves as the Executive Chef for the North American Vegetarian Society’s Summerfest and offers vegan consulting services, including chef trainings and recipe development, for clients such as Google, Whole Foods, Kroger, Danone, The Humane Society, Bon Appetit Management, Sabra, Aramark, Sodexo and more.
